Evolution of Gaming

From the popular Atari games until now, the gaming industry has been at an all time high, Each day each week, each year the gaming industry grows billions upon billions of dollars, more than Hollywood witch is impressive giving that the advanced technology used to render games will only get better and more realistic.

In this recession of our time here in the world, many industries went down and out of business this year, but not gaming! the power house industry went up 10% for 2008 and is rising for 2009, People find that gaming takes allot of stress and worry out of them, being able to take your anger and aggression out on a video game is quite satisfying hence Being broke and not having anything else better to do. Companies like
Gametap.com and others are growing rapidly providing cross platform games available to everyone on PC for a low monthly cost.

Console vs PC wars are soon coming to an end, Xbox is offering cross platform games to the "Hardcore Gamers" making it convenient to use a PC or an Xbox 360 because of the Xbox live feature. Now PC gamers can create Xbox live accounts and play with friends on Xbox console machines offering new skill levels and challenges. Great thing about Microsoft Plug and play is their pheriphials, you can take a 360 controller and pop it in your USB drive and play your PC games all day giving you both options if you don't like the key board control that much.

Pc games are creating their own engines with their own Editor tools to help developers create new maps, new games, new models etc.. This will spring new life into the modding community as more and more companies strife to enhance the gaming experience for all gamers to get involved (Valve the creators of the Halflife series have released their creator tools to gamers who own the Halflife 2 game, providing gamers with modification tools to enhance and or create game modifications for their existing valve manufactured games. counter-strike was a modification from HL). Thousands upon thousands of maps were created off the halflife engine and Valve is still a high contender when it comes to the sales of products per year.

Predictions with Sony's new "Mind control" technology will be another innovative idea that will allow gamers to use the powers of their minds to shoot fire balls, shoot guns, and place objects in different settings.. Not much has been released on the new concept, many E3 Events have demonstrated the level of efficiency the new technology has, but all can tell, it's still in its infancy stage.

Every few years or so games become more and more enhanced graphically but less and less content is added within the game, making it more likely to be a multi player game. COD4 for instance is a Awesome game but its also a very short game, that's why the multi player scene is very active compared to single player, People tend to play games more so as a group or community rather than play by themselves, unless it is a RPG style game.

The wii is in my opinion is the game breaker when it comes to innovation, the new gaming style attracts gamers who never touched a game in their life.. Such a good concept that targets the family players and makes them interact on all new levels. The graphics arn't the greatest but that's what Nintendo does on purpose, its about quality and ease of gaming and how it is when you are playing with people, other than the 360 or Ps3 witch targets the more "Hard core" Gamers. All Consoles have their signature great titles, most can be found on PC as well witch gives people options of saving $300-$500 dollars on buying a whole new system that will be out of date with-in 5 years, computers will always be upgradable and disposable just because of the ease of software and hardware that can be found and salvaged.

The dreams of reality can come true within the next 20 years, just think were gaming can take us. Imagine flying over the ocean and using your imagination to create things that you can make appear in a blink of the eye? Or fighting a Medieval war and controlling a 1,000 man army at the swing of a sward? Graphics and the pheriphials we will be able to use and manipulate 20 years from now will be the most exhilarating experience man kind has ever encountered.
